Local SEO Checklist to Get More Customer Enquiries

Use this local SEO checklist to improve Google visibility, service-area trust and enquiry quality for your business.

Local SEO is easier to manage when you treat it as a series of checks rather than a promise of first-place rankings. Start with accurate information, relevant service pages and a contact journey you can actually test.

Check your business information

Review your Google Business Profile, if your business is eligible for one, and compare it with your website. Confirm the business name, primary category, phone number, opening hours and website link. Keep service-area information accurate. Do not add an address that customers cannot visit simply to target another area.

Google describes local results in terms of relevance, distance and prominence. A completed profile does not guarantee a particular position, and distance is not something a website redesign can change. See Google's local ranking guidance for the source guidance.

Review your most important service pages

Choose one priority service and read its page as a new customer. Does it explain what you deliver, who it is suitable for and what information is needed for a quote? Are the photographs and examples relevant to that service? Is there an obvious way to make an enquiry?

For a business offering design and print, separate product photography from website development when the customer questions and deliverables differ. Link related services where that connection is helpful, such as branding and business-card printing. Do not create pages solely to repeat the same offer under different city names.

Build evidence customers can evaluate

Use genuine reviews with the reviewer's original meaning intact. Publish completed project work only with permission, and distinguish an actual result from a goal. A short case study can explain the starting problem, the work delivered and what the client can now do. It does not need an invented percentage improvement to be useful.

When asking for feedback, invite honest reviews without incentives or pressure. Reply to feedback professionally and avoid sharing a customer's private project details in public responses.

Answer the questions that arrive in your inbox

Keep a list of recurring questions from consultations. Turn a specific question into a useful article: what to prepare for a product shoot, which pages a service website needs, or how a print proof is approved. Include concrete preparation steps and link to the relevant service only where it helps the reader.

Review progress each month

  • Check Search Console for page indexing and relevant search queries.
  • Re-test the enquiry form and confirm submissions reach the owner dashboard.
  • Review which services are generating genuine enquiries, not just visits.
  • Correct outdated opening hours, broken links and old offer details.
  • Choose the next improvement based on a real customer problem.

An increase in visits is useful only when the visitors are relevant to your business. Our SEO and digital marketing service starts with a focused review of your current pages and goals. Tell us about your website to plan the next step.
